2014 Library of America JDP USA Trilogy Sales

Last year, in the Library of America backlist, John Dos Passos’ U.S.A trilogy was ranked #33 in sales, between H.P. Lovecraft and Ulysses S Grant. I think that’s admirable given the size and expense of the LOA series.

It’s a new year full of possibilities to advance the JDP legacy. Soon, Open Road Media will be releasing The Best Times, Number One, and Orient Express in e-book format. The Best Times, my grandfather’s memoirs, is an especially important title to “renew” in this fashion. The book contains some of his most fanciful, painterly writing. It recalls, with some nostalgia, his writing and painting and traveling life in the 1920s. It also contains fond and loving memories of his father. I love the book so much. It’s a wonderful gateway to the larger Dos Passos catalogue.
